Barbara Knight is one of Northeast Ohio's premier jazz singers. For years she has captivated audiences with her warm, rich voice, and she is recognized by jazz bands and musicians as a truly gifted singer with dynamic stage presence and an intimate knowledge of her repertoire.
Barbara's trademark is surrounding herself with top-notch musicians and performing fresh, inventive arrangements which present the songs of classic jazz in an entirely new light.
Chosen by L.A. jazz critic Scott Yanow as one of the top 521 jazz singers of all time, Barbara Knight was the featured band vocalist in the hit show “Stompin’ At The State,” which ran for almost two years in Playhouse Square. For 17 years, Barbara was the female vocalist with the acclaimed Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and continues to be a frequent guest artist with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, college jazz ensembles and regional big bands. Barbara is joined onstage by Jack Schantz on trumpet, Phil Lantry on piano, Tim Powell on bass, and Mark Gonder on drums.
